New Idea Enamel Sign

I started looking into getting some enamel signs made for the underground and show. originally i was thinking more traditional Blue Plaque ones but that seemed a little over done.

HELP!!!!

I was thinking of creating a pack fortube etiquette it would include:

• Bookmark saying (“don’t read over my shoulder!”)
• Water to keep hydrated in the summer,
• Deodorant (or febreeze) to spray at smelly people,
• Plastic baby to roll up and pretend is real to get a seat,
• UV light to check seat for human fluids,
• A book (war and peace) for the long journeys (with bible slip cover to scare people away from you,
• Earplugs for the noise of the station/peoples music.
• Stickers to put up depending on your mood ("no talking", "Talking is not illegal" ext.)

All of it will be packaged as a tube safety kit and might look like this:

Or if that’s too big this:

what do people think?

Branching Out

I have started to create even more interactive pieces. I have purchased quite a few fire alarms and am in the process of getting sound chips made to play various kinds of music. Next to them will appear a sign saying "press if bored", I will probably remove the glass to make it more inviting for investigation.

Flyer/Booklet

The meeting with the TFL didn't go too well as they cancelled at the last minute and said that they would not be interested (which i thought was rude as they hadn't even seen any of the work yet!). Because of this I have absolutely no qualms in putting up the work illegally and half working with a trainspotter society (well tubspotter i guess). However it does mean that I should probably centre my attention on the more subversive guerrilla graphics. Here is a flyer I made up.

There are a few type setting issues etc and I need to place some more info on the back bottom but apart from that the basic premise is here.

overheating on the tube

Public Service Announcements

I have decided to gear my work more towards public service announcements regarding safety (dehydration ect) but also social issues on the Underground (putting feet on chairs, playing loud music, littering, ect). i have created a few examples of ideas to show the potential outcome.

New ideas

Example of window sticker

ok perhaps the content is a little too rude for the tube but the medium is here. a semi-transparent sticker on the windows

it could be possible to make little stickers with things like this on it:

and place them on the windows. if done well it could look quiet realistic.

New Idea

Use guerrilla graphic tactics to make the tube a less unfriendly place.

It is aimed at London commuters and city workers who do long hours in unfriendly environments. I know a man who is high up in a PR firm who is willing to publicize and promote my work to journalists and magazines, which should help make it a ‘big bang’. Equally I would aim to put it all up over night (with the assistance of others) which will also add to the big bang aspect. It is contemporary and will provoke examination by the public and designers and hopefully culminate the skills I have acquired.
